Family day at Windy Hill
For Bomber fans like us, this was the best footy day of the year.
The day started with heavy rains which dampened the Windy Hill ground but not the spirits of the Essendon supporters which grew in numbers to celebrate the one of the most awaited events of the year - Essendon's Family Day.
The crowd roared in excitement as the players came on the field to collect their 2010 playing guernseys from coach Matthew Knights.
Red gave away balloons and show bags which included lollies, tattoos and a mini football. The kids also enjoyed utilising their skills to land a mini footy on a Red Energy logo with winners walking away with some great prizes.
Big thanks to Bombers Mark McVeigh, Scott Gumbleton and Tom Bellchambers who braved the wet weather at the Red marquee to give hundreds of fans autograph and photograph opportunities.
